Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] The Orca Project 4.2.2

I flashed this yesterday and it's the smoothest ROM I've ever used thus far.
The phone wakes up quickly, it has tons of customization, in built performance controls and stable so far. I'll run it for a while and post any quirks should I find them :]
I wish this had the v6 supercharger executable but it's so smooth I'm not sure if it is needed.

Could anyone directly to a thread on bb8 though after hearing you all talk about it I'm interested an try that out later but all I can find for d2mtr is bb7.

Bb8 had a problem and was pulled temporarily. You can flash the usc variant if you don't want to wait. I've found their aosp roms work on our device with no modifications. (still might want to edit the build.prop tho).

So I can flash bb8 from us c.... And have no probs

theoretically, yes. It's built off cm10.1. Cm's apn files contain every s3 device they support in it. And since usc kernels work for us, everything but the build.prop is perfect. The build.prop can be edited after flashing. Everything should work even if you don't. (make sure you dl from their site) I've been seeing some people bricking using goomanager lately)

The bricks are from people downloading the wrong stuff.

I've seen this across the various forums too...
My advice to the newbies out there that have flashed/running a ROM intended for another carrier (other than the device they're running it on - i.e. a US Cellular ROM on a Metro phone), is simply this - DO NOT USE GOOMANAGER to flash ANYTHING.
Better safe than sorry later...

I'm not a fan of goo I rather download from the actual site link instead of goo I have used goo before but just don't like it to download stuff

It's hard to know what exactly happened but I wouldn't doubt some of it is user error. I played around in goomanager to see if i could recreate it, and i think it's when they try to dl gapps. The roms seem right, but gapps will bring up a bunch of weird files. Like pappy say, better safe then sorry until it's figured out.

after downloading from goomanager, i go into a file manager and make sure that the file mentions d2mtr in the name...havent had any bad dl's either...

I've been using this Rom for about a week now..... This is a really smooth and nice running Rom! Great job! My favorite out of all that I've tried so far!:)

nav bar looks kinda funny, i enabled it and each time i get to the home screen it becomes see-through which looks really ugly in my opinion and when i connect to pc nothing happens like nothing shows up on my pc and i cant transfer anything.....but this stuff is expected of a nightly build other than that the rom is actually really good.

new 1.0.9 nightly apparently wiped out my imei so everything in my about phone including esn, phonenumber, imei all that is unknown. hope nvbackup worked, just a word of caution to you guys.....

Same here.... I had to reapply my backup of earlier version! I contacted the developer about this, haven't heard anything yet.

The guy that is making this ROM has been in the hospital but has finally gotten back home a few days ago. I had him pull the offending nightly (version 1.09) from both his own website and from Goo as well this morning. He has stated that he is working on a new bigger, stronger, faster Orca which will be called Orca Bigfoot and will be releasing it in the near future sans the problem that version 1.09 had. You have to wonder what is going on in that mad scientist brain of his though...crossing a killer whale with a sasquatch? And you guys thought the Orca name alone was a bad name for a ROM. What does that make "Orca Bigfoot"? A bigger, longer, badder name for a ROM?
