Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] wifi hot spot??

So I pay 65 ... I have unlimited internet and I was wondering how the hot spot works.. I'm currently using it to write to you guys... been on it for 45 mins now... and no issues... seen youtube vids and still use the phone for other things... I just wondered how you guys are doing with the hotspots and if you guys have rooted it to use it unliminted:D

Even tho you have unlimited plan they still charge extra for using the hot spot you might wanna check it out before you run up your bill.;)
 
well since this thread was already posted i guess i can ask and point out that ive tried the samsung wifi tethering but it ask wpa key i tried my number and still no go, anyone can figure out whats the hidden key? its not important i can still use open garden just fine.
 
Mine is just my phone number....
And you can edit it, by going to Settings → In the Wireless & Network tab select → More Options, and then click on → Hotspot & Mobile Tether. There's a configure button below, once in the menu. Don't "flick" it on, just tap on the left of the "flicker".

Yeah thats only one i use open garden works pretty good.

Im gonna try it again but have u been able to use it just fine? And do we still gotta change user agent on browsers?
 
so guys, do we need root to use the open garden or the samsung wifi app thing cuz i really dont feel like paying $10. I remember on the esteem we would change the user agent and it would work just fine

Guys and gals..I bring you FREE Wifi Hotspot for the Metro PCS Samsung Galaxy S3

1) Download wifi tether for root users v3.1 beta 14 apk to your phone(you can find it..I believe in you). Make sure "unknown sources" is checked in settings, security
2) Go to my files, internal, download, and click on the yellow wifi tether icon, click install
3) Open the app, click menu, change device profile to "Galaxy Nexus (cdma)", hit back, scroll down and check "mms clamping" and "routing fix"
4) Hit back, click on the Yellow icon in middle of screen, grant superuser permission, and you have free tether!

***depending on your computer or laptop, it may not work on your computer. If it doesn't, you have to
1) Download Mozilla Firefox on your computer and follow the install instructions to install it
2) Download User Agent Switcher add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/
3) Add it to firefox
4) Open firefox and find your "add-ons"...click user agent switcher, search robots, and chose "googlebot"

***This tricks your phone into thinking that your computer is an android device...Now you can tether away..FOR FREE
