Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Wifi Native Tether Fix 4.2.2

Here is the wifi tether fix for 4.2.2
It allows you to use the built in wifi tether and removes the carrier block.

It was for verizon wireless s3, until i installed it in recovery and found out it works for metro too, enjoy!!!

NOTE: You still need to use a custom user agent string with the browser

how do you install this? do you have to delete the exiting hotspot? im running goodness rom with sprint hotspot and it does not work. yes i flashed and wiped etc.

So wait... Just want to confirm... if I don't have a tethering plan this will still work and metro won't say nothing...

What rom are you on? Unless you're on bone stock (which i doubt) you already have working tether. Just enable hotspot in setting. On your laptop or whatever you got to change the user agent to android. Google it.

If you're tethering to a tablet like i am, set your browser user agent to desktop.

Thanks for this! It worked perfect on galaxy nexus. My replacement came with 4.2.2 installed and after rooting I could not get tethering to work on stock rom. This fix made it work with built-in wife tether.:D

soo i have a rooted Metro galaxy S3 will this work ? i dont feel like paying for hotspot

If it's on touch wiz and not aosp... then yes... from my understanding (as little as it is) aosp ROMs usually have tethering for free... I've never actually tethered... Never felt the need for it...
