Root MetroPCS marvelsc

Hello. I tried to root this phone using the guides in Wildfire S.

All attempts have been so far, unsuccessful due to the error of the phone being marvelsc or something along the lines. I'm unable to take S-OFF.

Any advice or tips? I've already tried a few out here and all failed.

I'm looking for a simple root to remove Metro Apps and a few other stubborn ones to clean up space and speed up the phone.

Quote from friend on phone.

Ugh the phne is pissin me off! I hve plnty of space to,dwnload **** bt it keeps sayon i,dnt whn i kno i do

How can I take S-OFF on the MetroPCS Wildfire S?

Is this possible or is ROM the only way to go? Even then, doesn't it prerequisite the S to be off in the first place?

I know its a lil bit confusing but everything you need is linked @ http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s-all-things-root/486494-htc-wildfire-s-all-things-root-guide.html You need to create a gold card, your phone is marvelc part #a510c, metro is a CDMA carrier. I highly recommend xda's index @ [INDEX] roms/recovery/guides/kernel/root/... - xda-developers
I've attempted that, when using the GoldCard, I'd get a SW Version error and another before that one.

Some of those threads link me to invalid/do not exist threads. I'll take a whack at it but it would be nice if someone who managed to do it on the Metro HTC would kindly post feedback and how he'd done it.

Shiny phone must not be bricked. @_@

I done it like this here thread told me to. [Tutorial] How to root CDMA wildfire s and s-off and other great tutorials - xda-developers A step by step guide that anyone should be able to follow. And since its not mentioned over there, make sure you don't have sync drivers installed. Also having adb & sdk on you computer should be pretty much implied I think. Right? Maybe.

As far as feedback..... S-off, rooted w/busybox runparts, sensless w/bloatware removed & all non-essentials linkd2sd. So basically I'm running a lean & mean stock 2.3.4 with no complaints.

I will attempt that this coming week then...

How do you enable USB Debugging while in Charge Only?

when you get to that sw version, hit the power button again it will load another screen. mine did the same and i thought i had messed up but it worked

i am cdma metro pcs wildfire s bootloader unlocked, s-off,,, no root tho?

I have metro too and I'm looking to root the phone when i hold down the volume down button and power and it goes to that menu it says unlooked but, shows s-on I'm assuming metro phones have to go through the unlocked process and others can go through the s- off option? Also, what does marvelsc mean?
Thank you

The best way for metro PC is to actually use a goldcard. Have a look at the tutorial link given by DNRDustin.
