Help MetroPcs Splash

Yeah but you have to be rooted and flash a custom rom from joneidy he removed splash screen boot sound and bloat ware.

Do you have a link for this? Will it mess up other settings?

I've rooted my phone, still need to activate it... as soon as I get a paycheck, next day or two...

Will all my apps & settings remain intact if I do a custom rom or would I be starting from scratch?

thanks

if you are rooted, you can try app "live dmesg". what it do is replaces boot animation with command prompt of phone boot

I am rooted, pretty sure the rom used was Joneidy, although the Metro PCS "hello hello hello" thing is most certainly still there.

I've installed a few apps that can change the boot "animation", but this doesn't kill the Metro PCS splash screen.

So assuming one is rooted and has the proper rom, what would the next step be to make my phone just do a regular boot animation and skip the MetroPCS thing altogether?

Live Dmesg looks like it might do it, but after reading all the comments nobody can confirm if it will kill an actual manufacturer splash screen, or simply the boot animation that follows it. Since it's $2 or so, I don't want to pay for just another animation and still be stuck with the MetroPCS hello thing.

I`m almost 100 percent sure that you did not flashed my rom. Because I did remove all the stuff that has to do with metro. The best you can do is install one of my roms and will get rid of that screen.

You will see that I`m right.
No offence. LOL

Hrm, then I'm definitely confused. This is what I installed:

"- Copy & Paste Flash_Image & recovery-2.2.1-joneidy Straight onto your sd card ( do this by going to my computer then double clicking the drive )"

I used the guide here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-all-things-root/325492-easiest-root-guide-optimus-m-2-2-1-a.html

Is it possible I messed up a step in the process?

No what you did was good, but that`s not a rom that`s the custom recovery to flash a rom and other things. LOL

Click on my signature for my latest rom called Sense Rom. If you need help on flashing it send me a pm. :)
