Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] Howto: disable Media Scanning on bootup

Haven't found anything about this so I figured I'd give a quick howto.

After root of course, download "Disable Service", open it and toggle to System Apps, navigate to "Media Storage" and uncheck "MediaScannerService"

and all done !

Cause it always lags your phone upon restart and it's not even necessary anyhow.

Thanks, but I don't need to reboot my phone very often since it's so stable already.

Just want to add a note here, disabling this service appears to break app updating. The "Downloading" indication will appear but the download will never actually start. Turning the media scanner service back on will allow the download and update to work normally.

Another problem is you can't read info off the SD card on a PC with it the service off. Found that out the hard way. It was helpful to have it off when I was installing some stuff and rebooting the phone several times.
