Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] Questions before buying (Root/Recovery) Related.

Hello all,

I'm thinking bout picking up a Metro F3 at Best Buy (on sale for 89.99 regular 149.99)

But I want to know,

What root method is the best?

And after root, what recovery do I use/install?

The 2nd init? or the CWM?

And is there a Bootloader to unlock? (I'm coming from an T-Mobile L9 and we are going thru hell over there in the xda forums trying to figure it out lol)

And if not, what all can we do on this phone when rooted?

Can we use Xposed Framework Modules?

Oh and lastly, would I have to unlock the phone to use it on T-Mobile?

And say if I can use my T-Mobile sim, what LTE Speeds are y'all getting? if LTE Is available in your area that is.

Any feedback to any of my questions are highly appreciated!

Finding an exploit to get temporary root, copying su and busybox to the phone and installing SuperSU.

One has nothing to do with the other. You can root and use stock recovery, not root and flash CWM or TWRP, or root and flash a custom recovery.

Which recovery you flash, if any, depends on which one you want.

The same you can do on any Android phone once rooted - run any app that requires root. And that's ALL rooting allows you to do.

Yes, since XPosed requires root.
 
That depends on what you want. If it's just the ability to reboot to where you want, the Wanam module of Xposed gives it to you.

If you want the ability to flash zip files you can use Flash Gordon.

Flashing recoveries and ROMs isn't always the easiest or best way yo do things. You flash something because you want the ability that thing gives you, and there's no other way to get that ability. Flash a ROM just so you can say you're "running a ROM" (which all phones come with) makes me shudder. I had a customer who just HAD TO HAVE a NY Yankees case on his Nextel - even though he had nothing but problems, since the case didn't really fit. Just having a ROM or a custom recovery is along the same lines. For 99.9% of people with cellphones there's just no reason for either of them. (Most people don't really need rooting either.)
 
I like having the ability to have a backup in case I ever screwed something up.

Which is why I wanted a recovery.

I know one recovery for this phone says it'll factory reset when trying to boot in recovery, so I'm gonna go with the 2nd init.

And as for the guy with the case, was he really that desperate to have a Yankees case? xD
