It's a possibility... The sd hack or any of the other external mods like link2sd can cause bugs even if not at first, but possibly over time. Especially when apps start updating from the play store.

Also someone in this thread or in another thread said metro did an update that causes tether not to work anymore, but I don't know since I don't tether anymore.

Might have to redo everything if you really need it which sucks lol.

My??? Are.. Its your comp. Connected but u face the metro link. If so u need user agent make sure if u use chrome u download the https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...-switc/ljfpjnehmoiabkefmnjegmpdddgcdnpo?hl=en And use IE9

If u on linux n use firefox u need a user agen plug-in too from firefox plugin store

If u on Internet Explore download the registry in PO close IE n run registry then open the explorer

And the sd hack has nothing to do with the problems... Cus i hav my sd hack and tethering...
I hav my Windows laptop , my work mac.pro n my kids are watching Netflix on the blueray player right now

Running Rooted Stock, on laptop side running chrome with agent set on IE9. In case anyone is wondering--dont need to go custom rom for tethering.

Another thing... I'll not recommend you to use ur tethering for game console to play live online.. Its not worth it cus it breaks a lot..

Mine did the same thing. Make sure to do the last step: kill system/bin/hostapd. Mine would connect fine, nothing will happen until I kill Hostapd. Goodluck

If you don't mind the stability issues of the KitKat ROM give that a flash the WiFi hotspot works fine except USB tethering. Still need the user agent switcher on desktop/laptop

And hav u grant access in the Wi-Fi tethering app... When u connect it should be a red shield pop-up for the wifitether app so u can grant access

U need to click on it...
It will take u to the access log in the app it should be green n a checkmark on the box then u save

Ahh its all good I gave up on it don't know really why I was trying to tether anyway cuz I got WiFi all over the house but it would've been cool for road trips and the tablets
