Root [MetroPCS] TOO Many Inconclusive Insufficient Storage Threads

Hi, Sorry to bother you, but I've been following a lot of the threads on here especially the thread by JVene to correct the storage issue on what could make our F6's great phones, but his posts are very long winded, and since he's MIA, I'm SOL. I've used Rom Tool box lite to add 11extsd2externalsd, and APPStoSD but still come up with insufficient storage with the few small apps installed. I was wondering if anyone had managed to come up with a solid fix. There are far TOO many threads relating to the issue that it just get too damn confusing, and very time consuming trying all the ones I have. If anyone could post a simplified, file, app, APK, or some simplified instructions to correct this issue I'd really appreciate it. I've got a 64 GB SD card, Running Freedom Kernel, but I'm not real familiar with ADB commands and usage, I just use the Rom Toolbox for the scripts. I've been a Windows tech for 15 years ,and this issue is extremely frustrating. Thanks for your time guys, and I'd really appreciate any real help you could give, Rob

:banghead:Thanks for the quick reply and the link. I'll reformat my phone and give this one a try to see if it will do what I've been looking to do.

...Of course when I try to download the app from the video I get an insufficient storage error LOL...:banghead: Just can't win with this phone, guess the reflash comes first.

Please let me know if this works, I currently have the fusesd and links2sd but it does not work 100% because /data/data(I think) is still on internal causing memory errors when it fills up, even with over 3gb on sd and 1gb on internal

I'm about to crash for the night, but tomorrow I'm going to backup my phone then reformat everything and try it out. I really hope it works cause these phones are great besides the storage issue, and I'm not holding my breath foe a kitkat update, but once I've tried that mod & tested thoroughly tomorrow I'll definitely post an update for anyone interested. More to come tomorrow... Have a good night all.

Hey, check out jvene's thread, pressypie said they were able to duplicate his results and they are going to package it user the f6utils package that we use to install recovery. You might want to hold off and see about that, because it will be a true solution, placing everything on the sd card

I installed that f6utilities recovery way back when that post came up & at the time there wasn't any resolution. I've contacted him via PM & he said he's going to put together a script for the mod, so now it's just a matter of him getting the free time to complete it. I'm just glad to someone's taking their time to help us mid level users that aren't Linux savvy. So it's just having some patience & waiting now.

Sooooo...
You make one more thread about it instead of replying to one of the other ones.

Kind of defeats the purpose a little, doesn't it??? :congrats:

j/k. Just bustin' your balls a little! :)

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I have done the Google thing for a couple weeks and keep coming back here for the answer.
I haven't watched the youtube vid that Rukbat pointed to yet. I'm waiting to see if jvene's solution can be a doable thing. It seems like pressypie may be able to continue the work and make something up for those of us that are not capable of programing it ourselves.

I sure hope he/she comes through with a solution!

And on edit....
DAMN!!!!!
I hit my 2.5GB limit on my Metro PCS plan so watching the Youtube vid was almost impossible, but...
I was able to get to 1:44 of it. I HATE the throttle they put on it when you hit your cap!
I now have 5.67GB on the internal and 53.59GB on the external!

I might try and shift the partitions around a little to increase the "internal" storage, but that is definitely a workable solution!

I was unable to change the numbers he talks about at around the 1:30 (not able o watch it again, so, not real sure of the time frame), but it worked just fine for me.

I will watch it again tonight when I am on a stable connection and give more info if I am able.

For all those having issues with space. This is what idid n so far no more probles... give it a try.
1st. ** http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-f3/801368-mod-app2external_sd-fixed-duplicate-files.html ( do this)
2nd**https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.codlab.int2ext (watch the video n fallow instruction. .. hav a pen n papel @ hand) make sure check the on boot. . n then swapp then reboot )

The 2nd option is what I am working with.
On a 64 gig card I have the space shown in my previous post.

I have a 32GB card I am messing with that right now is showing 22GB internal and the remaining being external.

I have rebooted several times between the two cards and it is "sticking" quite well.

I am about to start messing with the partition sizes on the 64GB card to get the sizes I need (that's my main card, so I'm a little leery of messing with it toooo much (even with a couple backups of it :) )).
I may be considering this as a permanent solution!

I may have a setting wrong (again... was not able to watch the entire vid on my lousy connection).
The stock Metro PCS File Manager and Astro File manager (don't have Root Explorer in this phone yet) both show only the external_SD.
When connected to the laptop, it shows both internal and external. The issue is with the internal. It only shows an empty "lost+found" folder on the internal. Does not show the actual files on the internal.

Will mess more with it this evening, when I get on a better connection.

Definitely not a deal breaker, but may still be a workable solution with some effort.

U hav to run both @ same time.. i tried first1 by it self w/ no luck after 40 apps , did the 2Nd one by it self n no luck after 40 apps when i did both i hav over 200 apps (system+ data) n no problem @ all yet.

The lost n found file wiill always showed cus is an attached to one of the .sh script in the SW. Cus evry SW now is capable to extract info... when u restore backups...
Someway how u wiped the internal or merged files to the external sd. My only concern is if u unmount the sd phone will function normal.... (Would rewrite info n files or just frees up. )

Not trying to be rude, but...
I have absolutely no idea what you wrote.
A better sentence structure would work.

Didn't get a chance to mess with it last night (way to busy with work).
Will not have a chance to work with it today.
Hopefully I will have a bit of free time this evening. It is working well, other than the internal not showing up properly.

Again..
I really didn't mean to come off as being rude. I just simply do not understand your post.

Thnx... i dont take thing so personal Sorry for theway i put in my sentences. . Im busy too... most of the time i respond been at wrk. So i try to be quick. I would try to b more specific later... keep up ur wrk let see what we can accomplish. Here

I just tried this method but it seems like the apps are installing on both extsd and intsd and I still get the low storage space. Also I noticed when I looked at the devices available I never saw two different numbers. I just saw the internal sd card number. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks.

If what u see is the internal only on the top, that means script is not running right.

I use link2sd.
I have 48 apps installed, no games though.

I did not encounter one single case of the insufficient storage error.
