watch your temps when tethering
a couple days ago i was wifi tethering my laptop upgrading to windows 8.1 and I left to go to the store while my laptop did its thing. When i got back home i noticed my phone was real hot. I check the temps and my battery was about 55c and cpu was 63c. I didnt think much about it and just put my phone on top of an ice pack while i finished upgrading.
come to find out those are pretty hot temps. the guide says not to charge phone while higher than 114f.
now i make sure i monitor my phone when tethering especially for extended sessions.
i dont think anything was damaged. and i remember a few months back I was at the pool for a few hours here in florida where the sun can reallly heat up a phone if its just left sitting. i was bluetoothing an itunes stream and my phone heated up so hot that it actually shut down itself. im sure this was alot hotter thann the temps i got when i was tethering, but back then i didnt know how to check the temps.
anyways i didnt notice any adverse effects back then so i think i should be fine now. nice to know the phone will shutdown if it gets too hot ( i think it might have just restarted).
anways just be carefull and keep an eye on it
