Root MetroWEB apk HELP

Be Careful.

Browser.apk

If installing it doesnt work try placing the browser.apk file in System/apps folder and see if that works since it sounds as if all you deleted was the browser.apk the rest of the files for the program should still be there. Let me know if it works.
 
thanks, So far i tries both apks above and neither worked. what i exactly did was

1-backed up MeteoWEB using titanium backup (turns out it only backed up data)
2-Uninstalled MetroWEB using titanium backup(dont ask why, it was just a dumb decision on my part). then tried to restore (turns out i only backed up data not app) even with out the browser i could still use phone, market and all Google apps. now i used Miren browser which i really like. but still like using the MetroWEB for certain websites.
3-tried many different browser.apks that i found online but none worked (they would show up in app drawer but then FC when i try to start them). used root explorer to copy into system/apps.
4- I did a Factory reset hoping it would restore everything to factory but browser was not there. every thing else worked fine and i did not lose root.
5- tried both apks that were provided above (copied to system/apps using root explorer) but both did not show in app drawer.

thats what i tried so far i hope someone can help me. thanks...

Ok here are 2 more suggestions.

First if you havnt done the update yet then do that and you will get all apps back but will have to reroot which is not a problem, just root the same way you did the first time.

Second you can try to use adb Install through command prompt
 
Use root explorer to paste it back in system/apps then long click on the apk to change the permissions to match the other system apks. Then install it.
 
I cannot do the update option because my phone is already updated, i also tried adb install also that is not working for me. I also tried copying the browser.apk to system/app and then changing the permissions and try to install then it would tell me application not installed. thanks for your ideas guys much appreciated, is there any way i could reinstall the firmware onto the phone then root again because i used to have an HTC EVO and you just could download the RUU and install it ? cause that would solve everything. thanks again..
 
I'm not positive but, I think if you delete using tibu it deletes everything so you might have to get the odex as well.
 
you might be right because i dont see the odex file in the system/apps folder. if any one has it could you post it. thanks..
 
thank you guys very much. it worked. here's what i did, i copied browser.apk from 2nd post and browser.odex file into system/app and then changed the permissions to match system apps then restarted. after that every thing worked. MetroWEB is back and working again.thank you all...
 
I think i did the same thing the last guy did, i deleted my metroweb system app the same way off of my lg esteem could someone put the apk and odex file PLEASE!!!!
 
i know this is an old thread but its a new problem for me. how are you accessing the .apk and .odex files if your internet is not working? do i use my computer?

Download with your PC then copy both via USB to your SD card then using Root Explorer move them to system/app and reboot your phone if necessary.
 
Can anybody help me with the links i the files i need are in the links of drop box but sadly their down and no longer exist
 
Hey, guys. I'm having the same problem, with the Metro PCS browser deleted on my Huawei M850 (I think it's M850), and I downloaded browser.apk and .opec, but it's not fixing. D: I can't access anything that requires Internet. Do I have to reset my phone? :3
