Help MHL adapter problem

i cant seem to figure this out, I have a MHL adapter and HDMI cord that i know works, I can get it to work on my 65" tv (as in, it works as soon as i plug it in), but i cannot for the life of me get it to work on my other tv, a 50" panasonic, no sound no picture. The phone says its connected... Could it be the tv, or am i missing something?

i know the mhl adapter works and has power, the hdmi cord is good, the hdmi tv ports are good...

Do you have the correct input selected on the TV for the HDMI port you are plugged into? Did you try any other HDMI ports on the TV?

Do you have the MHL to HDMI adapter made for the S4? Its different than the ones for other Samsung phones. The one for the S4 has a 7 pin connector and older phones have 5 pin connectors. Just a thought.

yes, i have the right adapter. What i was saying is, i have the phone, adapter, power cord, and hdmi cable and all that works on one of my tvs. The problem is i cant get it to work on my other tv, and i dont know why. I know the hdmi ports both work, and ive previously had a razr hd work on this tv....

well, after some searching, apparently not all hdmi ports are mhl enabled! So i guess im out of luck on this one

I'm curious...which model Panasonic? How old is it? I have a 42" Plasma TC-P42S2 and it works fine on mine. I think it's a late 2010 model.
