Help MHL not working...

So I recently bought an MHL adapter and when I hooked up my gnex to my tv it did not register the connection. Has anybody else had problems connecting with MHL? For reference the model of my TV is Samsung LN52A650 LCD and my gnex is rooted (nothing fancy - just the basics so I can use tethering).

Did you plug a usb power source into the adapter?

lol yes you have to plug in the power source to the adapter... i recently bought one too and i have noticed i need to plug in the power to the MHL adapter, then the TV then the phone. sometimes when i put the phone on first then the HDMI it wont pick up the signal from the phone... weird...

I remember your other thread about buying an MHL adapter. I am guessing you bought an off brand model and not an actual Samsung adapter. Same happened to me. If you plug in your adapter and your charger and the phone doesn't charge...it wont work. Return it and buy a Samsung adapter.

Is it a samsung adapter? You may have to plug/unplug/reboot, try a different TV/HMDI and if that doesn't work then maybe another adapter.

I have the same problem.
For this who are able to do can they please tell us wich kernel and rom they have in their. So I can tried.
Many thanks

did you guys figure this out? mine is sammy. running aokp jb3 with franko. it just charges the phone. no hdmi out at all.

I'm running the Zenon rom with Franco kernel and haven't had a problem. I just bought a cheap $10 adapter and am hooking up to a 5 year old LG television. I do notice though that if the video isn't showing up on the tv, I'll unplug the cable from the phone and plug it back in and it works every time.
