Help Mi-Fi Issue

I have noticed since having my Note 2 that when trying to use the Hotspot it a lot of times does not work very well if at all. I am able to get it turned on, but then I connect my ipad to it and even though it says connected on the phone and the ipad I can't get it to go anywhere. I can however turn on my jetpack and connect to that and get great speeds. Short of restoring my phone to factory settings any recommendations? This is one of the reasons I got this phone so I can have this feature.

what hotspot app are u using? I use Portable WiFi Hotspot Free

I use the stock mifi.

I have multiple pc's and some dont work with my note2. It seems some of my older xp pc's will only work if i tether it wired. My windows7 pc's always work using my note2 as a hotspot.

I tried this last week to connect to my ipad and could not get it to browse the internet. It would just hang at loading a Page. But i would connect it to my external mifi and it worked great. Not sure if it is the phone of if vzw is blocking something.
