Help mic issue in speaker mode

Hi all,

I have been a long time reader of this forum but normally managed to find the answer to my issue without needing to post. Unfortunately I now have an issue with my S2 which I am struggling to resolve .

When making/answering a call in speaker mode the other person cannot hear me, the phone seems to mute the mic. I am fairly sure this is not a hardware issue as the mic works in voice recorder, video recorder and Skype.

I have tried a factory reset (without wiping SD contents) but this didn't fix the issue.

I am on stock version 4.0.4.

In theory if its not hardware would the jelly bean update fix this ?

Try using a different dialer app like 'Dialer One', if mic starts working then you might consider a software upgrade if you want to stick to stock dialer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a few dialer apps but they all went to the usual screen once the call started and again pressing speaker button turned speaker on but Mic apparently off.

The microphone definitely works, i tried it again doing a google voice search with the phone some distance away.

I use speaker mode quite a lot in the car so this problem is so frustrating

Hello, I have the exact same problem about the speaker mode. My android version is 2.3.5 and the phone doesn't even find an update on the software. I was thinking that maybe updating a new version would fix it but from the reviews i read, upgrades are also causing other problem.

Did you able to find that problem any solution?
