(Micro) HDMI = win!

I have to say that I'm very impressed with the HDMI portion of the phone. I finally got to use it for the first time now that my micro-HDMI/HDMI adapter arrived. I bought it from DealExtreme.com. I hooked it up to my A/V receiver, which connects to my HDTV. I was playing downloaded YouTube clips (that I has as 1920x1080 .mp4 files) via MobuPlayer and it was rocking my bedroom! Very cool and the mirroring is fantastic. So far. :)

i just got my dock yesterday and im amazed at how android looks on a 40+ inch tv. blogtv is great on a tv also

Yes, I'm DEFINITELY impressed with it.

After seeing my tablet (viewsonic gtablet) look so poorly via hdmi, I didn't know what to expect from a phone. I was GLADLY surprised by it though!

Yes, I'm glad I insisted on getting an HDMI for my new phone. I'm telling my friends that whatever phone you get, if you have an HDTV w/ HDMI, you want to get a phone w/ HDMI.

SSinisterSS, I never heard of HDMI cables causing 720p vs. 1080p. Most of the generic HDMI cables will suffice. One can't go wrong w/ a MonoPrice.com cable.

make sure you check the hdmi cables you buy. i made sure mine has 1080p output because most are 720p

Any cable that is up to the current HDMI specs should be able to do 1080p easily. I think they are actually supposed to be future proofing them by making them carry higher resolutions. Wikipedia says HDMI 1.4 calls for up to 4096

Active micro HDMI to HDMI 10ft, is what I bought. Found it on Staples online made by PNY. This is 70% thinner than the regular HDMI. Works great and I can take this with me on my trips since it's so thin and easy to coil up. Costs $50, but for me it was worth it.
Eventually the Active HDMI cables will become cheaper and will replace the standard since they are so thin and easier to snake around your clutter.

I got the same cable (minus the PNY brand name) for $6 with free shipping on eBay.
HDMI class 1.4, supports up to 1440p, gold plated, 5 Gbps transfer speeds.

It's the skinny "Active"? I've been looking all over and this seemed the only one out so far by PNY.

Now if we only can get drivers for a lilliput touchscreen we'd have a complete, hdmi setup for a carPC using our droid 3.

Just got mine for six bucks from amazon.com. Motorola standard works for droid 3. Free shipping. Not top of the line but, until I get a gold plated one its real cool.

FYI, this is the adapter I bought to use w/ a regular HDMI cable.

Ah, I need one of those too.
But I got a 10 foot ACTIVE HDMI. For those that don't know, this is a new type of HDMI that is 70% thinner than your typical HDMI. Google it and you'll get the skinny on it. It's much easier to stuff into a pocket or small luggage. Not many Active Micro HDMI's out there besides PNY.

Next, if I can figure out the DLNA thingy....

Hmm, interesting, so the active HDMI cable is much thinner, which I gather makes routing around home theater equipment a bit easier.
