Micro SIM card for use with Samsung Galaxy S6102 Duos?

Is there a way to use a micro SIM card with a Samsung Galaxy S6102 Duos (without an adapter)?

I have released the normal SIM card being sent with a letter accidentally by breaking the frame.

Not safely, no. A micro-SIM can obviously fit easily into a standard mini-SIM slot, but if it moves behind the contact pins and jams then getting it back out without damaging the pins can require partial disassembly.

What i did in the past is stick a bit of selotape across the back of the frame part that fell off and stick the microsim into it *own risk* :thumbup:

Only issue with sellotape is that it's not stable in the long-term, the adhesive starts to leak out after a while, so you'd probably end up with a gunky mess in the SIM slot after a few months. As anyone who tried to fix snapped cassettes with the stuff would find out, the tape would eventually stick together in one ucky mess. There's splicing tape which is stable and was designed to stick magnetic tape and movie film together , that would probably be OK.

This thread just made me realise something...

look at this in my own phone.

Micro-SIM in a standard SIM slot.

I have two phones, a Lenovo which takes standard SIMs and Samsung which takes micro-SIMs. I've had that SIM for three years now, it was originally a standard one. But when I bought the Samsung in June I had to get it trimmed to micro size. Couple of days ago I wanted to use the Lenovo again, just for a change, put the SIM in and didn't even think of it at the time or realise what I had done. It works, but probably will need tweezers to pull it out.

* OWN RISK! *

Wasn't even thinking....or even remembered getting the SIM trimmed to micro-size until now....LOL BTW I took the photo with the SIM-less Samsung. :)

Macro will be harder to DIY since theyre thinner (depth)
Lol what i love is that the full credit sized bit is the original size from the 80s! Like...... why lol??????
Was it structural to hold the brick together?

OK, many thanks.

Seems to be not that easy and a little bit dangerous for the phone. But an adapter - I have found some on the Net - actually should work as it seems.
