Micro-USB AC Adapter

I like retractable cables so I just ordered 2 of these this morning for $8 each (it says they transfer data as well as charge): Retractable USB 2.0 A - Micro B Cable, M-M 48" at Retractablecables

I also ordered this retractable car charger from Amazon(no idea why it's only $0.10 but they get you on shipping): Amazon.com: Micro-USB Retractable Car Charger for Blackberry Curve 8900 Flip 8220 Storm 9530 Tour 9630 Gemini 8520: Cell Phones & Service

I am hoping all of these work with the Incredible. I plugged the USB cable that came with the phone into my USB to AC wall charger/car charger that I used to use for my Palm Centro and the phone brought up a message stating something about the current charger not being compatible with this phone! I compared the voltage input & ouptut etc and found that the HTC wall charger output states .5V or .5A higher than the Centro charger. Has anyone else seen a warning like this? (Sorry I am at work and can't remember the exact warning message)
 
The best ones are free ones. I went to a Verizon Corporate Kiosk in the mall to buy one today. He couldn't find it in the inventory so he went through their stash they use to copy contacts from phone to phone and just gave it to me and said its free since we dont have one to sell.
 
^ Just make sure the charger is rated the same as the Incredible's and you should be fine.

so i ordered this stuff like 4 days ago and i already got in the mail today. i tested all of the pieces and everything works! great deal and quick shipping. :)

Just got mine today and I'm experiencing the exact same thing from the USB wall adaptors...
 
Crap, I was just about to order some wall chargers from monoprice. Glad I saw this thread. I love monoprice too! I hope they get this straightened out.

Can anyone recommend another site that sells chargers that work? And are not 30 bux!

Yeah... seems like a crap shoot. Someone had 1 of his 2 AC adaptors work and both of mine didn't... I saw this on another thread. Could be worth a try for the price Amazon.com: Home Wall Travel AC Charger for Micro USB for HTC HD2 Droid Incredible Google NexusOne Evo 4G: Cell Phones & Service

Wow.. Thats definitely a cheapo.. lol.

Will the cheap chargers ever overcharge the battery? Or does the battery determine when the charge stops, regardless of the charger?
 
i ordered 5 mini-micro converters to add to all the mini usb adapters and chargers we have in our house and car. Got them from Amazon.com for $0.01 each + like $2.98 each for shipping.

I think the battery/device itself has a cutoff not the charger?
 
Well, I received all the cables I ordered (see below) and they work great. The retractable usb to Micro usb cables charge and transfer data just fine and the retractable car charger works great. I love not having to carry a cable around now but if I do, at least they are nice and organized, no cables to coil up. I am very pleased with these.

I ordered some chargers off ebay, but now that I have some part numbers to go off on Monoprice I think I'll have to order some of those too.
