Help Micromax A70 Video Call

Just Got The Micromax

The Micromax A70 has a secondary video call camera, but due to the stock android 2.2, it cannot be used for video call.

Could Anyone Please Provide Me a Workaround For this.

Sorry For The Confusion Dudes, but i found out that none of the android phones support calling over the network. Even the Samsung Galaxy SII does not have video calling over 3G network. But the front camera can be used by messaging apps like skype,fring,nimbuzz etc.
 
You are wrong. I have Samsung Galaxy S and i have been making video calls over 3g network. There is no problem. Also video calling over skype, fring is very good. We need to know if we can use Micromax A70 for video calling over fring. If it does that it is worth buying this phone.

Then Samsung Must've installed some third party software to do that, otherwise video calls cannot be made with stock android as the android kernel doesn't even support front facing camera.

I'll check if video calls can be made with fring and let you know

Just created a fring account, i was able to make video calls but there was no option in fring to switch to front facing camera, i have contacted fring support for the same.

Dude its awesome! i was able to use fring to video call using the front camera also.

Its Working,Working!

All you gotta do is close fring and go to camera and select the option to use front camera and then viola fring will use the front camera, until you select the back camera again.
 
Fantastic buddy. Thanks for all the help you have provided. Just check if skype video chatting is also possible. Then it will be a perfect mobile worth 100% the money. Thanks again & sorry for giving you trouble again & again. also if you could tell something regarding the quality of video chat with fring & skype.

Quality of video calling depends on your signal if you're using 3G(HSDPA), i was using airtel so it was working flawlessly(I am getting download speed of 500 KBPS on airtel 3G). With Wifi Its even better you can group call without any lag.

Believe me, its worth every penny

Ma fren is havin galaxy fit whic s 240*320 pixels, so most of th application in android market is not compatible ,..

Can u pl let me kno reg th compatiblity wit various apps in market???????

I ran quadrant benchmark and it gave me a score of 480. The screen resolution is 320x480, it features a adreno 200 GPU and 256 MB of RAM(In Quadrant Benchmark It shows 160 MB as the android system reserves the remaining for it)
Uptill Now Only Plant VS Zombies was the only game among my downloaded games which was not working on this phone. i'm still searching for more games which do not run.
Angry Birds Runs Quite Decent.

at a price of 6619 i would highly recommend this phone.

the nokia 5800 smartphone has got a processor of speed even lesser than that of a70..nd i can make skype calls very easily then what the hell is the problem with a70 which is even faster !!

The platform you are talking about is symbian s60v5. The skype software launched for android phones is a much more advanced version and requires a high end android device to make video calls at resolutions such as VGA(640x480).

Hence a processor of 1 GHz or more is required.(This information is fully authentic as i have mailed skype for the same and this was the explanation i got for non-availability of video calls in Micromax A70)

think u r wrong it is because froyo dosent support videocalling on skype gingerbread does and it dosent depend on hardware cause if u can make videocalls on fring then it is also possible wt skype so i guess we hv towait fr gingerbread update frm micromax or a cynogen mod

playin video formats depends on codec s available not phones and there r lot of video plyn software available on android market so go buy this phone

no its free if u r on wifi or unlimited gprs plan cause its voip on mobile to mobile or mobile to pc
