Help Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync issues

Greetings, I'm new to the android world & am in need of some help. I recently purchased an HTC inspire 4G (AT&T) from a friend, his company changed carrier's. I got it sync'ed with my work e-mail, calendar, contacts, etc through my work. Quite often I get the icon in the upper left hand corner & it says "unable to connect to ActiveSync server." Is this normal? I did a factory reset & this still happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sometimes I get errors trying to sync while on Wifi. I'll close my Wifi and then it syncs fine.

I've only had that issue being at low signal areas.
