From what i have been reading... It would appear that the micro usb is also just tv out like the 3.5mm jack. At least for the vibrant, the real galaxy S i9000 seems to have all the bells and whistles.

Samsung Vibrant Hacks! has some interesting links...be sure to go to the samsung uk site and look at the accessories...you will see micro to 3 rca jack cables... no hdmi

Yes, HDMI. But I rec going for the MONSTER double plated or triple plated cables to get the fullest richest clearest picture possible to the human eye.

They can cost up to $300 but its so damn worth it, cant see any pixelz.

my problem with this is that you can't charge the phone while using the hdmi out.

I am 99.99% sure this does not work. Only 3.5mm -> RCA works.
