So which of these Middle weights is the best android to date? (I wonder if me grouping the Eris and Hero's together will give them advantage. (In the case that users of all the phones listed blindly choose their own phone without truly/honestly comparing all of the phones.). Those 3 phones are already the most popular 3 of the group I think even on their own lol

The title of the thread should read: "Middle-Low Range Android Phone Battle!"

Unfortunately I am unable to change it. Could an admin. please fix it?

Well, the G1, Cliq, Behold II, Galaxy, and MyTouch 3G are all currently stuck on older versions of Android. And in some cases (G1 and both Samsung phones), they won't ever be able to run 2.1. Plus the Behold II has TouchWiz which should automatically disqualify it right off the bat!

The Hero/Eris is a pretty good phone, as is the Samsung Moment. Both have little problems though. The MT3G Slide and LG Ally look the best, but of course they're not out yet.

No midrange Android phone comes close to the Acer Liquid. 768MHz Snapdragon (underclocked/undervolted, same Cortex A8 Snapdragon in the high end devices), 256 megs of ram, 800x480 resolution with 264k colors, 5MP camera. Eclair releasing soon (stable leak available online). Easy to root, lots of development/roms. For $360 online and works with AT&T 3G. Can't get better than that.

This sounds high ended to me, not mid end. Plus, I never knew about this phone lol :o

Lol yeah high end specs at a midrange price. Best bang for buck. Had it for a couple of weeks and love it.

Sprint HTC Hero/HTC Droid Eris/GSM Hero

GSM and sprint Hero's yes, I think Eris is different enough to warrant its own option tho :p

Well its too late now... lol :p

My coworker has an eris and sister has a hero btw. I told them both that they pretty much have the same phone. Only minor differences from what I see. (Mostly cosmetics)

I do like the Eris better in terms of sex factor
