Root Mikg 3.1 and sounds

Biggen0

Newbie
Hasn't quite be 24 hours since I rooted so I still have a lot to learn but the sounds/notifications are driving me crazy as I can't figure them out.

1. How do you remove the sound from the weather app when I unlock my phone? For example, if its raining outside the phone will make a "thunder sound" when I unlock.
2. How do I lower the volume for the touch tones when dialing. I swear when I go to call someone people look at me as the damn touch tones are so loud!
3. How do I turn off e-mail notifications? I don't want any sounds when e-mails arrive

Running Sprint Scene, Clock Lockscreen, HTC Skin with clock/weather app on home page.

Answer to # 1--(I think)..go into Mik tweaks, click on the "Extras" tab, click on the "screen lock sound" option and choose from 1 of 4 preset sounds...I chose the "Nexus Sound"...it works with all lockscreens..

#2--do you happen to have the box checked for SonyXLoud Audio? (in mik tweaks, click settings tab, click on misc options and look for that box)...if it's checked, it makes everything louder!

#3--go into gmail, hit menu, hit more, hit settings, click on your email account name, scroll down to "labels to notify", click on inbox, and change settings there...(set ringtone to silent, or none)

Hope that helps:)

Thanks! That took care of 1 and 3. I didn't have the SonyXLoud Audio checked so I'm still "rocking" the loud touch tones. ;)

I dig around the Mikg forums and see if anyone else is reporting this.

The next thing I need to tackle is battery life. Seems to dissapate rapidly. Using stock kernel so far so maybe I need to look into that...

dont have my phone next to me, but what about trying menu--settings--sound and under "feedback" un checking screen lock and audible selection boxes..?

Well, I guess my last suggestions would be: (since it hasn't been long since your rooted and flashed MikG)
1--go into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache
or
2--wipe all (except sd card) and reflash MikG:)

I would also check out themikmik.com and post there about your mikg questions. Their support for their roms is awesome. I always get quick responses and the Devs/mods are always cool about any questions you have. And, hey! This Site rocks too (I love it, not trolling) so nothing against it. Just offering another place for some help.

That still doesn't do it. The only thing that works is turning audible touch tones off. But that turns the touch tones off completely. I guess that will have to work.
Have you tried the volume toggle in the pulldown (Quick Settings) menu?

If you press the left side, where the volume icon is, it'll toggle through all of your volumes (Media, Alarm, Notification, etc.). I think the one you want to lower is "DTMF Volume". Try that and see if it lowers the sound of your touch tones.

I didn't know those were there! But....

Still doesn't work. With the dtmf slider all the way to the left the tones are still loud as hell. I should reflash but I don't want to reconfigure everything.

Ahh well.

Could very well be a bug the volume you are experiencing or not liking. In either case, +1 for posting at theMikMik with GREAT support from dev/mods at the forum. Here are two links.
