Currently on mikg 2.56.. do I need to install patches if everything is working fine. Also how do I "push " files instead of flashing.

If your on MikG 2.56 and not having any problems then theres no need to flash the patches if you don't want to. The current version is 2.59, look at the OP for MikG over on XDA to look at the changes since 2.56 and decide if you want those features.
"Pushing" things uses your computer but I have absolutely no experience with this so I wont go into that in any detail

Version 2.59 has some nice tweaks in the settings menu. As far as pushing files it requires ADB to do that through the command prompt in windows.
