I know there is another thread about MildWild CM version (located Here), but I thought the Oxygen version deserved it's own thread and would make things slightly more relevant...

Anyway, the current newest version is [17.Apr V3.8] and the changelog states:

* New Build
* Many Fixes
* Updated: SuperSU
* Updated: Apps and theme
* Added: Camera ICS to test
* Added: New Kernel (Latest Thalamus kernel mod by Alex)
* Added: 2 way call recording
* KSM Support
* Build from "Roalex"

There was a bit of duplication between tweaks and supercharger so he probably removed it for that reason. As for cache, not sure exactly what it was. Assume market downloads? Maybe they're now handled elsewhere

I’m on MW 3.3, and so far it seems to be running pretty nicely for me. It seems to have enough features to keep me interested, without being overloaded which was my feeling when trying cyanogen.
In Settings there are some options for CPU and governors. I hate to fiddle with something as important-sounding as those, without knowing what I’m doing. Anyone have some tips on these? Or point me to where I can figure them out?

thanks DH - was just thinking of hooking the ox thread into my cm one here :D

im very keen to try out the new mw ox build - there have been various issue on both the mw roms recently - but he mw ox 3 version was my second fave rom ;) very clean and stable - no issues at all

cheers
dan

hi CC - i think the trend with the cpu stuff is to leave it as ondemand and the standard settings (sumink like 345 to 998) - i do this and havent had any issue - i think peeps just play if they are having speed/lag issues

cheers

....but it will mean i have to re theme it i guess :/ or do you think i will be ok using the v3 uot zip - guess it depends on whether the framework/system files have been altered? ta

We're now up to MildWild v3.5!
Version numbers just seem to be flying by! I updated earlier and so far, so good, I think APP2SD is back working natively in this version so no need for other scripts, though i'm not keen on this Xperia launcher... Think I might go back to Launcher2

I'll update my first post shortly

:D yes i just spotted that - yuck! Xperia launcher :( try Go launcher - it is the best imo

think im gonna wait till sunday as got some free time to play then ;)

I like the effects of the Xperia Launcher but it's just overkill for what I want personally... the same with GO really, I like my launchers to be simple and minimal, so Launcher2 fits my usage perfectly... even if it does have quite a big footprint (I think). I'm learning to like ADW Launcher

Depending what version you're currently running, it's well worth updating to 3.5

hi - im on dGB28 at mo :)

go go go go..... :D it is by far the best imo - adw ex is close - but no more dev at mo - Go is just too good for the others - you can set it up just how you like

go on ;) give it a try :D

cheers

Yeah.. The latest version seems to have ironed out all the bugs. It's a great ROM. Undecided on the launcher though.

Yeah I quickly removed the Xperia Launcher apk from the zip and replaced it, i'm really liking 3.5, the battery drain seems minimal, in 3 hours i'd lost 3%... granted I only had the Facebook app installed but it's still not bad.

One small gripe I am having though is the wifi, does anyone else find that it takes an age to connect? The icon appears in my status bar almost instantly but it just stays grey, it takes about another minute (might be exaggerating slightly) to turn blue and for me to actually be able to use the connection... very odd.

Is it easy to chage the launcher in ROM? Is there any benefit or should I just install go launcher as well and make that my default?

THansk

I would imagine to remove the stock launcher it is just a case of;
Open the ROM ZIP,find the launcher, then delete. but then you would have no launcher at all, so maybe you would have to replace it?

but don't take my word because i have never done it.
Unless you have custom partitions and are trying to save as much space as possible, it's not really worth deleting it.
I just keep it and set GoLauncher as my default launcher.

it is possible to replace the launcher quite easily in the zip using 7zip.

open (don't extract it), delete the provided launcher, then just drag the launcher of choice into system/app

i put lots of other apps there like go sms pro, go contacts ex, maps, swiftkeyX etc as i have space left on system partition. they run better for me on nand, as my card isnt the fastest.

when these apps get updated, they get installed to data/app again, so i use 'SystemCleanup' or TB pro to reinegrate them into /system/app

i also delete loads of unnecessary things in the zip to save space on system
- other apps in system/app which i won't use
- all languages except en_GB
- all ringtones and alarms, got my own on sd

i quite like the overall result :)

Yes, you would have to replace it ;)

(Well OK, if you were previously running the same ROM, so could reflash without a wipe, then you wouldn't have to, but that's a special case.)

What I did when trying to really minimise the ROM footprint was to remove the launcher from the zip and replace it with the smallest I could find (the launcher2.apk from dGB). Then I just restored Go from my backup once I'd flashed and used that as normal.

But as you say, unless you really are trying to squeeze it into a small /system it's probably not worth bothering.

Yeah it's all been explained, but removing the included launcher and replacing it with an apk of your own, is very easy :)

The critical test once replacing the launcher is, if you do a wipe, is that new launcher recognised as default?

Anyone getting the market error 492 since updating to Mildwild 3.5?
not 100% sure how to fix it.

Update.
Didn't do anything but now everything is working fine now.

I got that error on 3.4 (which I annoyingly downloaded and flashed about 20 minutes before 3.5 was released!), but never on 3.5, have you tried wiping and re-flashing?

Not yet no, in a lazy mood at the moment.
Will probably do it in the morning.

im on it! :D looking good so far - uot fought me a bit, but now sporting a nice russo red theme ;)

market seems to be working for me at mo

cheers

hi - actually i did get market force close type errors just after installing, but i put that down to having the sd card detached :/

looking very smooth so far - ram a bitl lower than dgb - but more than cm7 was at it lowest - 45mb! :D
