Help MilestoneX/DroidX screen freeze

Constant screen freezes. Second phone. Terribly annoying. Traded in my old xphone as i thought it was because my old xphone was 2.2.2 + rooted, and the OTA update downloaded automatically, had lost connection several times and plus I wasnt aware that root would cause issues. I also tried different sd cards, fearing i had a bad card carrying the problem over from the old phone.

Got this new replacement phone, did a full factory reset, before doing anything, and ran it a day or two, still had screen freezes, so I allowed the OTA to download all at once, without any connection issues. Techs at local store said the update would fix everything.

Nothing was fixed. I bought a new sd card, and left it blank. Still having same problem.

Never know when its going to lock. Was having to battery pull, but found I can reset and unfreeze the screen by Hitting the power button, then reopening. The slidelock is chunky upon reopen, and sometimes freezes right away, other times it is after a bit. Ive had it freeze, texting, emailing, dialing phone numbers, answering a call... Im at a loss, and sick to death of this piece of crap. Sorry to be negative, but this is total BS and makes me want to smash it to little pieces.

Ive gotten an app called zdbox tonight, and going to start locking apps one by one till something changes, i dont know what else to do. Ive factory resetted so many times im sick of it.....

Any help is much appreciated...

I really like the xphone when its not froze up. The camera rocks, the processor smokes everything else ive seen. Even the techs say this phone is rocket fast.... until it sticks. It really sucks when ur trying to dial up your bank and it sticks with the wrong number keyed.........

My friends new x2 does similar crap so Im not excited about buying an upgrade, thats not an upgrade. Kinda like this wasnt from my Droid

So I gotta say I learnedly some more about this, from xda, from the dxf, and just google searches that many many people have this issue with the X1,X2,RAZR. Its common, but sounds like most people were able to resolve it by going into the Multi touch keyboard and wiping the app's data. You go to settings >> applications >> running services , then open your keyboard and clear data.

Ive tried this and it didn't fix my problem. My screen froze within minutes.

Next thing others said to do was install another keyboard and then they had no more issues. So I installed a iphone type keyboard, cleared my cache, cleared my data, and still, within minutes it froze.

This is really disgusting me.

Im not sure what else to do. I've done everything that I can find that worked for others, except root, os, rom, etc. I don't want to root, in case ACS comes back and says they will give me another new phone.

Any pointers or tips? Thanks in advance!
