Help mini USB to mini USB camera?

Hi!!

NOt sure if this is the correct location for this question but here goes:

The whole reason I bought a NookColor was to replace our old hp laptop that died... yes it died. I took it appart and there was not enough to salvage.

Anywho - the main reason we got the NookColor was to edit/store pix from our camera on it and upload to facebook.

Is this possible?

And if so - what is the best/most user friendly (for my wife) photo-editing software on the market (I'm new to Android).

thanx!

Easy answer:

Yes. You need to run CM7.0.3 (last stable build) on your Nook, or at least root it, to get access to the programs you'll need.

Once you have root access (through rooting or installing a custom ROM) you can install the Facebook app. You can also install the Photobucket app if you use Photobucket.

The easiest, most reliable solution will be to buy a microSD (uSD) card that comes with an adapter so you can use it on your camera to take pics, then take it out of the camera and adapter and put it in your Nook.

For photo editing, a quick and easy program is Photobucket's SnapBucket. I'm sure there's others but I haven't tried them.

Not unless you're good with Linux and Android. At this time, USB host support on the Nook is very experimental.

It will require installing an experimental OS and kernel to your Nook, and the use of some very delicate commands and experimental tools.

I just so happen to have the thread open HERE as I'm working on getting an Xbox 360 controller to work for game emulation.

Yes, I've seen people on XDA mentioning using such adapters to use mice, cameras, the aforementioned Xbox controllers...

So, yeah, they exist.

Got any links? I'd really like to use my camera with the NC. If I can convince my wife to let me flash phiremod then this will not be necessary tho...

In an unreleated question... how do I tell my NC to install apps to the memory card?

Right now I am using nightly #108 + 6/18 kernal + 6/13 gapps running from SD card.

If I am using phiremod from internal eemc then how do I (or should I) tell my NC to install apps to the SD card?

thanx -- still learning -- first Android device

I couldn't tell you in which threads I saw such information. I do a lot of skimming. You would probably be interested in this thread:

As for installing apps to the SD card, I think there are a few options. One is to go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications, then choose them one at a time and click the Move to SD Card button, if available.

Another way: I have an app called Task Killer, that was the Amazon Free App of the Day recently, and whenever I install something, it pops up a notification telling me if it can be moved to the SD card. I think that app lets you do a bulk move of apps to the SD card.

What are you, MacGyver?

Pics, please, because I really have no idea what you mean. I have two little girls, so pigtail has a different meaning, clearly.

Cable's working great, but it's a little ugly at this point. I didn't have the right shrink wrap for the job, I'll need to resort to electrical tape... :( I had small shrink for the data and power cables, but not to re-cover the whole thing.
