Missed Call and Text Notification??? (S.O.S.)

Need help! When I miss a phone call or a text message, my phone does not alert me very well. The only way my phone notifies me of a missed phone call or text message is a tiny red check mark for a missed call or a tiny envelope for an unheard text message at the very top of my screen. These indicators are so small I rarely notice them and I have gone one or two days without realizing I had a voicemail or a text message. My last phone (HTC Thunderbolt) had a large notification bulletin across the middle of my screen indicating a missed phone call or a text. I looked at apps to solve this issue and the reviews indicated that the notification apps were not compatable with the Bionic. If you have something helpful to mention, I will appreciate any help. If you refer me to look up something else to find the answer to my question, please don't bother responding. I appreciate your time and thank you in advance!

I've been using Tasker with the Missed Notification Reminder from the Tasker Wiki for just this purpose. It provides an audible reminder of notifications that haven't been cleared.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to make it work with carrier-based voicemail yet, so if that's a key feature you're looking for, I don't think this will help.
