Help Missing Applications

[Srogers808]

Some of my applications that I have dowloaded and that came on the phone are just all of a sudden "not installed on your phone" Including the Android Market. the icon is there, but it doesn't have the actual picture, just a generic android pic. When you touch it it says "Applications is not installed on your phone" this happens for the market, games like fruit slice and a couple kids games I have. any ideas??

Don't know about the games, but have you got an app called "Play Shop" in your app drawer? Google have rebranded "Android Market" as "Google Play Shop" (yes, dumb name, we all agree on that ), and have been quietly replacing the Market app with Play Shop in the last week or so. Apart from the name and icon you'll find it's the same app

Haha! i Found "Play Store" Touched it and it said "application not installed on your phone" went and clicked the market icon thingy again just to see and it takes me to Google Play now..... Good enough i guess. Weird. Still wonder about the games though.

Try rebooting your phone. When my market app got updated to play store there were two apps, the play store and the market, but when I rebooted it was just Google Play (I agree that the name is kinda dumb)
