Help Missing Component?

UncleMike

Android Expert
Today I got a notification titled "Missing Component", with text reading "Needs Google Play services. Touch to fix." Long pressing on the notification and selecting "App Info" brings me to the App Info page for the Calendar app. The notification has a time stamp that's within one minute of a Play Store notification of 3 available app updates, none of which is Calendar.

Using Android's native app management, as well as Titanium Backup, I have confirmed that there is only one app named Calendar installed. According to Titanium Backup, the package name is com.google.android.calendar (sounds normal), the package version is 201210290, and it's installed in /system/app. I'm running stock 4.2.1, rooted.

Knowing I have TiBu backups of all my apps and data, I tapped on the notification and it brought me to the Play Store, for an app titled "Google Play Services", where the only option was to uninstall. Coincidentally, this app in the Play Store had been updated today.

It appears that this is just a (one time?) side effect of a Play Store update. Did anyone else get such a notification?

I got the same message this morning. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and as soon as it was finished I got the same notification again.
