I did not think it would be so difficult to get my outlook contacs fully synched with my Desire phone.
First try: use HTC Synch (i.e. the built in option)
It seemed to work fine (all contacts appeared on my phone) but then I realized that most of the phonenumbers were missing. This is because they were stored in the other phone numbers-field in outlook. I found no way to teach HTC Synch to accept those numbers and transfer them to my phone.
[If you are wondering why I put the numbers in that strange field: that was not me but Nokia PC Suite (from my previous phone) which puts numbers that were not assigned a category like "private" or "business" into that "other" category. Using the private/business categories, in turn, is not encouraged on Nokia phones. That's why most of my numbers are neutral.]
Second try: use MyPhoneExplorer
Again, it seemed to work fine, but this time the postal address (street, zip-code, city) were not transferred to the phone. Again, this seems to have something to do with the fact than the adress is stored in outlook as an "other" address, rather than private or business.
So now I at have my numbers (which is kind of handy on a phone) but I wonder if there is a way to actually get both numbers and addresses transferred.
Any idea?
