Missing Gmail

I have an LG Motion phone and have gmail set up for a few months now. From the beginning, I have received emails on my computer that never show up on the Motion. I miss some important messages cause I don't get them till I get home and see them on computer. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution. Most emails come through fine.

have you checked settings for "sync" of the gmail app?
also i use "k9" mail app for my gmail acount. it also works with yahoo and many other email providers
