Missing Orange SMS Preview widget

Hi
Just getting to grips with my first Android phone!

I have a bog standard SGS2 on Orange. I can select 2 "homescreens" via the Orange Homescreen Selector app, one being Orange style, and the other Samsung style.

The Samsung style seems much better to use, as there seems to be very limited editing of homescreen pages in the Orange style. However, when the Orange style is activated, if I go to add a Widget, under "Orange Widgets" I can select "Messages". This is a very handy SMS previewer that can be placed on any of the homescreens allowing message preview/scrolling and selection.

If I switch over to the Samsung homescreen style, I cannot seem to select this from anywhere. Its not under "Widgets", "Applications" or "Shortcuts"

Does anyone know how I can get this SMS Preview (I assume its an Orange Widget) into one of my Samsung style homescreens?

One other thing, when writing SMS, I dont get a list of smileys, just the ascii characters ( : - etc. Is there any way in the SMS composer to be able to graphically view and select smileys?

Many thanks
