Help Missing Photo Application

Have had my HTC Desire about a week and am really struggling to come to grips with it.

I have a whole pile of photos on my SD card and according to the handbook to select the album I should be able to press the

up arrow key from the home menu (to see All Apps), then tap Photos.

However, there is no Photos app showing on the All Apps scren. I've done absolutely nothing to customise the apps showing on this screen so don't know why it's not there.

Can anyone help please?​

Yes I do. And all the photos on my SD card are in there.

I should have thought about that because Gallery was where photos etc were kept on my last two phones. I guess I'm just so frustrated I'm not seeing the wood for the trees.

I'm nearly at my wits end with this phone - if I haven't got it sorted by the end of the weekend there will be a cheap HTC Desire for sale.
