Missing pictures in contacts

I started getting a "Damaged SD card" error, which I suspect had something to do with trying to move apps to the SD card - the navigation crashed, and afterward my SD card was reported damaged and I had to reformat it and reinstall all my apps - including the text-to-speech app for navigation.

Anyway, now in my contacts I'm not seeing the pictures. These pictures worked in text messages as well. I don't see a "sync" option, syncing is turned on for Google. Any way to get these back?

It's not a big deal, but it's nice.

A warning to others - be VERY CAREFUL when moving apps to your SD card, if you use the SD enabler app which will let you supersede the defaults you may wind up moving something that wasn't supposed to move, then your SD card will blow up forcing you to reinstall all apps that were on the SD card. Then your contacts won't integrate with Gmail & Facebook anymore...

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with the app 2 sd. Have you tried taking it out and blowing on the sd card and putting it back? I got the same message once and I just took it out and put it back and it was fine.

I had used an app called "Move2SDEnabler". This allowed me to move apps that I'm pretty sure weren't ever supposed to be moved, you have to enable USB debugging to even use this app.

It moved the speech data for navigation to the SD card, when using the nav I noticed it glitching out and force closing. So I reboot, and bam, bad SD card. It then tried to reinstall all my apps at once, because it was missing all the ones on the SD card, and I think because of the App2SD and Move2SD stuff it was getting confused and freaking out.

Long story short. I had to reformat the card.

If anybody knows how to "re-sync" pictures for contacts that would be great. I used to have people's Gmail and Facebook pictures, even their most recent status updates in my contacts, now for some reason that's all gone.

You'd have to do several things.

First, to allow Facebook and twitter and whatever else you'd like shown on your Contact boxes, you WILL have to move those apps back to the internal memory.

The other thing is ensuring on both the Accounts and Sync panel that sync is not only enabled for all the accounts, but also in the app itself. You will have to go into the Facebook app and set up the sync settings there.

As a last resort, if none of that works, you may have to 'reset' your Contacts settings (or cache?) I had the same issue and after fidgeting enough with no results I learned I had to clear the contacts and reattach them all to their appropriate accounts to sync.

Personally, I dropped the whole Facebook/Twitter integration since I wanted to move them to the SD card and got tired of having to re-sync on each phone boot up, so I only use Google contacts and their pictures now.
