Help missing update.zip

hello. i have a stock captivate with the 2.1 ucjh7 update that i downloaded ota.

my phone stopped connecting to a pc after the download. i just recently tried to restore the phone and when I did i got the message cannot find sdcard/update.zip

any ideas how to fix this or if i take this back will ATT harass me and cliam that I tried to root my phone

Are you just trying to do a factory reset? That doesn't require update.zip

Yeah Im just trying to factory reset/restore and its asking for update.zip. Never tried to root my phone or anything.

This is what my setting say

Model: SAMSUNG-SGH-I897
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: I897UCJH7
Kernel: 2.6.29 jetaek.lee@sep-11 #2
Build: ECLAIR.UCJH7

Follow the instructions in the link I provided. update.zip is not required.
