Fair enough, it's not for everyone.

That's an older radio and not recommended for most newer ROM's, that could be the cause of your battery issues.

Flashing a new radio is very easy, but it's a pretty risky procedure (if done incorrectly, it can brick your phone). This post gives a link to the guide.

Have a read, does it look like something you want to try?

As said here, it is easy but risky! I followed the guide exactly and I read it through a couple of times and still watched the video while doing it and mine went ok!

I kinda worked a work around for this theme manager problem -

theme manager - edit a local theme - go to launcher, then select the launcher screen you want.. sorted. Bit of a pain that you can't do it normally but nevermind, all a bit weird.. How will I know when an update for miui comes out?

I am almost thinking of unrooting my phone incase it breaks as still have about a year and a half left on my contract... can someone try and persuade me otherwise?!

I believe they update MIUI every Friday.

And only you can make the decision of unrooting!
