Root MIUI becoming laggy

I have had it for maybe 2 weeks and it seems to have gotten very laggy lately.

I have about 50 apps in all. The majority are games (maybe 20 or 30%).

It becomes almost unusable when sending and recieving messages. I wouldnt really notice this if there was not a built-in pop-up reply that allows me to text while doing other things.

The lockscreen is also very laggy when music is playing.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed these problems with MIUI. Also, is there anything i can do about it?

You on the original MIUI or Embrace MIUI?

Have tried to keep up with recent MIUI releases, but always have the lag problem no matter how meticulous I am. I keep going back to MIUI Gold 1.1.14. It just works. I'm sticking with it until somebody can get it right.

You on the original MIUI or Embrace MIUI?

i am on original. I figured it would be better and more quickly updated. Embrace MIUI is from another developer modifying the original so it would take longer for the updates of the original to get to it.

I might try it though since i am having problems with the official.

I'd try changing kernels first.

System Settings -> System -> Battery Monitor -> Switch On. The batt monitor has to remain switched on by default.

This will make all your force close/lag issues vanish. The rom is not defective, nor is it a kernel issue. The problem is with the battery monitor settings.. I take zero credit for this - I saw a post on xda forums where some guy (who is either the inc's chinese dev or seems to be a part of the miui team - cliffjwz or something like that) posted that this was the issue.
