For those interested in maximizing the ability of the S2's lens and sensor should check out the Miui camera. I have not been that pleased with the quality of the S2 photos and I say this because I have had a number of phones to compare to and have spent a fair bit of time taking photos with each device (Nokia N8, iPhone 4, Omnia HD). Yes, the S2 takes good photos but the stock camera creates more noise than it should and the resulting JPEGS look over-compressed.
I know some people will say "It's a phone, what do you expect?" but I use my phone to take a lot of pictures and like see what I can get out of a camera.
I have been testing a few Miui roms and I have noticed that the Miui camera (not the new CM7 replacement one in 1.10.21) takes far less noisy pictures, has better color balance, and less jpeg compression. The CM7 camera is good but not as good as the Miui one.
Anyone else care to post their masterpieces using the Miui camera?
