Root MIUI help

I am having a hard time getting this rom to work. heres what I did I sbf'ed back to froyo I wiped data and cache. Then I rooted with z4 bootstrapped and installed the rom. When it boots up it goes to the miui spinning globe boot screen and stays there I waited 20 minutes and nothing just repeats the spinning globe over and over. Any ideas?

You need to go from froyo to .596 with the 2-part install, and then you flash miui

Cool thanks. I was told to sbf to froyo then install. I am still really new to this is there directions for this specific rom?

You did it right the first time. Seems something just went a lil wonky on the install. I'd sbf again, root Froyo, use D2 Bootstrapper, wipe data/reset, and then flash MIUI.

Taken from RootzWiki --- You MUST be on CyanogenMod 7 or .340 Froyo to flash this rom!
Remember to wipe before flash!

yeah you don't go to .596 that would put you on the GB kernel
you need to SBF to froyo and go from there like you did the 1st time.

This is incorrect. You need to start from froyo so you have the proper kernel. Then flash the newest 1.8.5. Wipe data/cache. Let us know how it goes with the new version install.

Damn, serves me right for responding so late in the night with sleep deprivation. CM7 based ROMs = sbf to froyo, such as this one. Going from a CM7 ROM to Apex/Liberty GB/Shiju (the one on my mind while posting) = sbf + 2-part gb
