Root MIUI Kernels

Ok so im currently using this kernel:

2.6.35.13
ManU-Version 2.1 - Gingerbread ONLY
Gingerbread-HAVS-AXI-CFS

My phone lags realllyyyy badly at times and when I recieve a call its starts ringing, I look at the phone, and it takes literally 10-15 seconds for the screen to wake up and show who is ringing me. I've read that this could be because of the kernel so i was wondering if anyone has got any other suggestions. Im on Miui XJ.

It should be fine with those settings. Try without a screen off profile also. Theyre not really needed.

Ok now its annoying me.
My phone starts ringing today, look at my phone, screen off. Then after a bit my normal lockscreen shows up. I try to unlock it but its lagging so badly at this point that it doesnt unlock. Phone still ringing finally the call menu with the slide down to answer shows up. I try to slide it down, lag again, no luck. I miss the phone call?!?!

I think i need to try a different kernel. Any suggestions?

I aint read the rest of this thread but instead of looking for a new kernel, couldn't you just flash the rom over your current setup, not wiping, would that not restore the old kernel and keep your current system?

i could do that but with this kernel my battery life has got considerably better so i was just wondering if there are others i could try

You could try a different ManU kernel - 1.4 GB HAVS AXI CFS was a favourite for a long time, so might be worth a spin. I think that's what I used when I last ran MIUI (which was before ManU 2.1 came out).

Very surprised at this problem though, as I've found 2.1 rather responsive.

Installed ManU 1.4 all seems ok for now.

Another quick question, when i was making a nandroid i was looking around the menus of 4ext and saw the option to check the partition alignment. I pressed it and it said the ext4 part was perfectly aligned but the fat32 part wasnt. Would this affect the speed of my phone at all?

That would affect the speed with which the phone can write to the fat32 partition. I had that on mine once, and it reduced the performance of a class 4 card to class 2 levels. So the impact on the general responsiveness of the phone would be minimal, but if you want to copy or write a lot of stuff to the card it's a pain.
