Root Miui on Sgh-T599n??

Can you let me know when its functional for use ? Not trying to rush but I'm an impatient person lol. Sorry bout that. But take your time.

I had 2 quick questions #1. What recovery do i need for installing miui and other jellybean roms. #2. Are we going to be having lollipop roms made for this phone because i really love the material design.

Well most of the stock stock roms you can flash using philz touch recovery. Also they haven't made the source available for android L. Plus it technically hasn't been fully released yet. When it does you might see some android l roms for this phone.

I wonder is android L aosp or stock based?

Yeah Sorry bout that. I flashed the rom and after i went to a concert and couldnt take pics ! Lol im going to use Carbon 4.4.4 intill its finished. Oh and keep up the good work dadcup

Just curious have you tried pulling the camera's from CM 10.1 (4.2.2) and injecting them into the properly places with the correct premissions? What would be sweet is if we could create a TW/MiUi Combined Hybrid Interfaced Rom, like the Note 2 had for awhile...

You can try if you want I been try all but no go I think all the bug is cuz the android base 4.2.2 or maybe kernel too

I believe he's got a kernel for ya to play around with...

( Kernel: https://github.com/Meticulus/android_kernel_samsung_codina )
Is there any real major difference between the t-mobile version and our metro version? If not maybe we could port a kernel.

They should have a simple interface that lets you switch between the aosp ui and the manufacturers ui.
lol that feature is sorta included in carbon, and vanir basically all cm11 roms to turn off the addons and have a "stock" feel but i doubt Samsung ,LG and other leading manufacturers would adopt it. Its kinda why you'd buy the phone for Touchwiz, or Sense.

EDIT: Not to veer off the thread tho... But i'm very impressed how you went from barely knowing anything about androids to Dev'n kuddos to you.. keep up the good work and your work is very much appreciated in trhis forum

EDIT: ignore the part about you not knowiing nothing, got confused with something

Well I didn't mean the features but more the look. Like I prefer that dark look of aosp over touchwiz

Have you tried theming with Xposed? Like maybe XBackground module? It allows you to have a Halo Light and Halo Dark theme overall throughout the whole base of the system.

I might give Xposed and it's modules a whack when I have a day and time to recovery if I have to from a module not working properly with our phone.

That's a great suggestion. I have used a lot of the theme engines for exposed buy the problem is that you really can't theme a lot of elements like that. I been theming our frameworks-res and other system files for a aosp look and trying to get an aosp feel as well. I'm close but I can't figure out where the hell stock touch wiz toggles are located. Other than array file inside systemui but that's just to reorder em and remove totally off topic but I figure it would help give a breif of an idea ROM.

My favorite theming modules coming from a Note 2 User who only used TW Rom's were, XBackground (It's made for TW and also allows a custom background which themes stuff like phone, contacts, system settings, calc so on etc), Wanam, XBlast Tools (Both I believe allow you to theme the toggles) and Android Theme Engine.
