Root MIUI Rom Question

Hi all. This rom looks amazing but on their website it says that it supports the HTC Desire (G7). I know that this is some sort of chinese copy of the HTC desire (correct me if i'm wrong) but will this work ok on my regular HTC Desire GSM? Is there likely to be any damage done to my phone if it only supports the G7 model and not the original?

The g7 IS the HTC desire. There are indeed copies of the g7, but they run winmo
