Root MIUI vs CM7 Battery Life

Just wondering which is better. I'm using MIUI now but was thinking about flashing to CM7 but it depends on how the battery life is and if it's as smooth.

Thanks :)

CM7 has had the best battery life over any rom i have tried. The kernel that comes baked in is pretty good. In my experience, CM7 has been by far the fastest rom around. After you get used to it, any sense rom will feel slow and laggy. give it a go!

Just flashed CM7 and its great! However i've downloaded some apps from the market like widgets and when I long press on my home screen they dont show up. A couple were minimalistic text and bobclock..

wow thats strange. Do the built in widgets work fine? I wonder fi they are not gingerbread compatible.

you coud try the things below to see if it helps.

1. You could try restarting the phone
2. uninstall then re install the widgets, then re boot.
3. do a wipe, clear cache and dalvik cache and then re in stall CM7.

This happened to me with Weather & Toggle Widget. I moved it from the SD card to internal memory and it showed up in the Widget list.

I tried Miui and CM7, both had the same battery life on my phone as both used the same kernel at the time I tried them. I have to say that CM7 was quicker and more appealing to me. I never could warm up to MIUI.

I have always used CM7 with the invisiblek 28 kernel, so that might have attributed to the better battery life! Give it a try.

I'm using the invisible kernel but I just got an update through Rom Manger for another CM7 update. Is there anyway I can update with out losing all of my apps and info? Sorry if it is a dumb question I'm new to this stuff.

Thanks
