They Royals had a .392 winning percentage at the break. They were tied for dead last in all of MLB. Since the break, their winning percentage is .579. I'm sure they won't maintain that sort of winning baseball but at least they have been watchable for a change. Even if they stay hot, they haven't a chance to make post season.

A three game series against at the Dodgers for the Royals. That should be entertaining. 🤣
They were swept by the Dodgers. No surprise there... or shame for that matter. They have played watchable baseball since the break. Tonight was game 33 in the second half and they have wone 18 of those games. That's nothing to dance a jig over but considering how terrible they played in the first half, it's night and day. They are out of the race but I can sit through a game and have some hope they might win for a change.
The Royals took two from Angels, swept the Athletics, and then swept the Tigers. It's just a wee bit late for the team to become relevant but they are having fun for a change.
The Royals won again tonight. That's nine wins in row which is likely their best run in a couple of years.
The wins stopped at nine in a row. They lost and won a game since. Nine wins in a row is not a biggie except to a team that was in dead last in all of MLB. There are now five teams with worse records than the Royals. Nothing to hang your baseball fan cap on for sure.
The Royals won again tonight. They only lost two of their last fifteen games. I don't get it.
I guess the Royals got tired of that silly winning business. They have lost the last three games.
The Royals only have four more games they can lose and then off season to reflect on the sorry team they put on the field this year.
The Wild Card games start today. Always a fun watch when the games are so important. The game of interest to me is the Red Sox / Yankee game. Former big time contributor to AF was @Clementine_3 vs @Steven58

But Yankees fans expect to be World Series contenders. They haven't won since 2009 and the natives are restless.
I understand the feelings of the natives. They need to buy a better contender. Competition is stiff nowadays. He who has the deepest pockets prevails.
The owners' pockets are stingy, nowadays.
When the fan base starts to drift away, watch how the dollars flow into the franchise. Even the Royals became relevant for a short time. They had to. Fans were tired of their losing ways. Butts were no longer in the stands and paraphernalia sales were in the dirt. Sadly, baseball is a huge business. At least they haven't sold their souls to the streaming devils... yet. It's next. You can't pay players millions without multiple avenues of revenue recovery.
The Yanks handled game one against the Red Sox without any trouble. It's a best of three series. The Sox still have a chance. In the other wild card games, the Braves beat the Phillies, White Sox beat the Astros, and the Padres beat the Cubs. Winning game one of three is huge in the wild card series. Since the 3 game format was instituted in 2022, winners of game one went on to win the series 93% of the time.

Boston and the Wild Card are one thing. Tampa Bay and the Dodgers are quite another. We'll see how far it actually goes. Not holding my breath.
There is no easy from here on out. That's what makes winning it all so special.
I missed the end of what had to be a good game to watch. My network feed for the Phillies / Braves game switched to local weather and tornado warnings North West of me but in the viewing area. I missed the Phillies come back and the ultimate win in the tenth inning. It was a do or die game for them and now they have forced game three.
