MLB 2026

Finally... it is spring training time which means baseball is around the corner. I love football and I love basketball and enjoy watching some golf but there just isn't a game that I enjoy more than a good baseball game. It is likely due to the fact that it was the only game I grew up playing and strived to be decent at. I am all in as a MLB fan and can't wait for the season to start. I will be holding my breath that DirecTV will once again give me their baseball package because of my loyalty. They gifted me the NBA package which I don't really care for. I watch college basketball but only watch the NBA when I can't find anything on TV. If DTV isn't kind enough to gift me the MBL package this year I will be a consumer. I see their price is now $150 for the season. I doesn't not include any spring training or post season coverage.

It was bitter cold yesterday and I had no reason to venture out. I spent most of the day watching spring training games on DTV's MLB channel. It was opening day for spring training. They aired a number of games but none were live feeds. They ran a sports ticker at the bottom of the picture with all of the game scores which pretty much eliminated any suspense of who might win. :) It was still fun to watch some baseball.

I gave in and bought a year of MLB.TV season for 149+. I hate myself. I feel I keep coming back to the same abuser year after year.

I personally think it's a small price to pay to be entertained at home with family. It's not like you are off fishing or hunting or playing golf or.... you name it. And baseball is not a sport that takes 100% attention so a viewer can easily continue to be connected with the family scene. Not to mention that it's a great game and isn't filled with ignorant antics that are often insulting that are exhibited at other major sports.

You're right.... but I'm mad at the Yankees. My wife wanted me to get MLB.TV season.

It could be worse Steven... you could be a Royals fan :)
In actuality, m'bro, I think I'll be a generic baseball fan, pivoting away from the NY Yankees. Hal Steinbrenner cares more about money than he does about winning, breaking his father's tradition. George Steinbrenner had his issues, and I know it, but he commanded a high level of expectation.

I watch football, but don't really care who wins as I've not really been a football fan since the 80s-90s. I think I'll take that posture up for baseball.

What do you think about the new balls/strike rule? They've cleaned the baseball rules up in recent years, haven't they?
