Help mms and hangouts head scratcher

hi,

i have an issue with hangouts and attaching photos to some texts. most of the time it works, but sometimes instead of getting the selection popup, i get another one asking me to join google + (which i don't want to do). at that point, there's no way to send the photo.

also, if i just got to the photo and select hangouts as the app to send the photo, it never sends it. i just keep getting error messages.

anyone know what's going on here?

The N5 is a Google phone, you really need a Google+ account to get the most out of it.

Just set one up,you don't have to use it, but it helps with cloud backups and pretty much everything.

i got it. the person has to send you a text first. then it works, goofy, but whatever. and no, i don't want a google + account, even if i don't use it.

I can't stand cause its dumb and you need to much info about u online and if your not caution with the photos the world can have anything u taken a picture of .

Not if you set it up correctly. Others only see what you want them to see.
Its great at backing up all my photos, and then I can access them from any web browser anywhere. No one else can access them without my password or if I choose to share them.

Its no different to any other social network or cloud storage. You just have to learn how to set it up.

Very true. How one sets up their Google Plus account makes quite a difference.

I use Google Plus on a tightly controlled limited basis, to keep up with certain special interests in communities. I don't share or post, I've opted out of anything that would involve sharing personal info. It's a very good resource for obtaining information without being a time sink like Facebook. In fact I'm amongst the small group of people that's never used Facebook or other social sites.

The advantage in my case is how just having a Google+ account enriches my overall Google services experience.

I don't see why everyone is so resistant to it.

I don't either. I think it's because they have no clue about it. Likev mentioned above If set up right no one can see your pics.. for me I use g+ more than fb. Also I don't like hangouts as my sms app..I use gosms

I love my Google + acct I use it post and use the upload feature to me that's the best. You do have to make sure you set it up correctly but its my preferred social site. I don't use fb at all.
