Help mms - black and white pictures

I am using handcent and for some reason every now and then when I receive a picture via text, it's in black and white even though it's in color on the senders phone. Yesterday, someone sent me three pictures in a row, two were black and white and one was color. On this occasion, the other phone was also a Samsung and also uses Handcent.

Any ideas??

try not using handcent?
idk what it is
but its either that or your carrirs mms compression format
