MMS Issue On Jelly Bean

Since receiving Jelly Bean OTA I can no longer get MMS. When I hit the download button it says downloading but just hangs. I'm using stock messenger and did not have a problem before the update. Anyone else have this problem?

Can you send mms fine?
I assume you're in a good coverage area.
Is it a VZW Gnex?

If all else fails factory reset it is. May even help with battery life as well.

Do you have the new radios? I've had better luck with my MMS messages since then. Could be a coincidence, but I hope not.

BTW, make sure that you have your mobile data on. I've read in countless places that MMS messages get sent over the 3G-4G network and not wi-fi. Also read that it helps if you have Wi-Fi turned off when you send MMS messages. Again, I've tried this and have had better luck sending picture messages since.

I think I have it fixed. There was a pic from someone that no matter how many times they sent it I couldn't get it out of the downloading freeze. Kind of odd. Thanks for the help!

That wifi - mms issue is extremely annoying. I wish there was a fix for that.

So I am having issues again. I use wifi at home. If anyone sends me a MMS while on wifi it just sits at the downloading button. Even if I flip data back on I still can't retrieve the pic. WTF. Anyone figured this out?

I'm also curious of this. I don't send mms too often, but it was extremely annoying yesterday when I was trying to send a picture and it kept sitting there trying to send!
I'm wondering what I've missed out on if it just doesn't send me a message just because I'm on wifi....

I had this same problem when ICS was on this Nexus. I thought the Jelly bean update would fix this notorious Nexus issue. It didn't.

Basically if you have your wifi on when you receive a mms, it will say downloading. Whether you turn your data plan on or not, it will never download unless it's resent while your wifi is off

Tech support will tell you to do a factory reset of the phone, but it won't help.



Has anyone had the problem in the past with ICS and found a way around it?

Hello all. Not trying to hijack the thread, but my GSM GNex issue with MMS is that the message is never sent. SMS is fine. Can't send MMS.
