Help MMS Issue

This is my first thread creation, so if it is in the wrong spot, please inform me, don't chastise me.

Anyway,

My Gnex seems to have developed a habit of reattaching photos to SMS messages (converting them to MMS messages) randomly. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this (with a fix) or is it only mine that has a poltergeist. I should note that it only seems to happen if a try to send an SMS message as the next message following an MMS message to the same recipient.

Configuration:
Stock GNex, unlocked and rooted, I don't know if it happened before as I unlocked and rooted on delivery . I am also using the stock messaging app.

Steps I generally follow to send MMS / SMS (I've racked my brains to think if I send messages other ways but can't come up with any)

MMS:

1. Take picture (usually of my four year old son to send the the wife) using the stock camera
2. Click on thumbnail of picture to bring it up in the gallery
3. click to share and choose Messaging
4. Type my wife's name in the to and choose her Cell number from the list
5. Hit send
6. Message sends no problem

SMS:

1. Open messaging
2. Choose message thread with my wife
3. Type message, click send
4. Message sends, then show in my thread as sent with the previous picture (my wife has confirmed that the pictures are infact being sent, so it isn't a problem with the message thread displaying something wrong)

I have searched for anything like this issue in multiple forums but came up empty, so I am not sure if this is a GNEX or ICS thing.

check your MMS just after you send them... I've had issues with them saying "sending" for a long time (over a week before). If that happens, just click the message and resend it. Maybe you are getting the same issue. i started a thread about this awhile back and it seems to be a common problem.

I've had that problem too, but this seems unrelated. In this case the mms goes through on the first try with no issues, but the image is attached to subsequent messages

wipe the messaging app.

Go back in and I'll bet you get options for the pic to be resent! I've got it a few times, not every time, more like a quirk. You can just hit cancel and be good.

I think we're talking about two different issues here.

One issue is MMS messages that take hours to days to send unless you resend them. I have experienced this but it is not what I am asking about here.

The issue I am having is that after successfully sending an MMS message, subsequent SMS messages in the same message thread get the photo attached (converting them to MMS).
